1 FAQ
1.1 How long does commissioned jewelry take to be made?

Typically six to eight weeks. However, we are able to make accommodations depending on our current workload. Contact us if you require faster service!

1.2 How do I find out my finger size?

We recommend you come into our store and have your finger properly measured to ensure the best fit. It’s complimentary and only takes a couple minutes!

1.3 Do you charge for jewelry cleaning?

Jewelry cleaning is always complimentary. We will check your items for any issues before we begin. The process can take five to thirty minutes depending on how much cleaning each item requires.

1.4 Do you repair jewelry?

If you purchased your jewelry from Baxter Moerman, please bring it in to be assessed and promptly fixed.
We do not take in outside repair work, however we are happy to assess your needs and recommend the appropriate local repair shop.

1.5 Do you service watches?

We do not offer any watch service or replacement of watch batteries.

1.6 What if I purchased a ring from you and it’s the wrong size?

Your first ring resizing is complimentary. Come by the store to be fitted and we will promptly resize your new ring, usually in under two hours.

1.7 What materials do you make your jewelry from?

We make our jewelry using 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold, 18K white gold and platinum.

1.8 What is the difference between platinum and white gold?

Our 18K white gold is a mixture of 75% pure gold and 25% nickel to make it appear “silvery” in color. It naturally retains a slightly warm tone from the pure gold content. Traditional jewelers rhodium plate over white gold alloys, but this thin rhodium plating wears off over time.
We prefer platinum to white gold for a few reasons. Platinum, is a naturally silver-colored metal and its density and malleability enables it to hold up better, for longer.

1.9 What is rose gold?

Our 18K rose gold is made from 75% pure gold alloyed with 25% copper.

1.10 What if I have a nickel allergy?

If you have a severe nickel allergy we recommend avoiding white gold due to its nickel content. For someone with a severe nickel allergy, platinum is the best option, as it is naturally hypoallergenic.

1.11 Where do you source your diamonds?

Our diamonds weighing 0.25 carats and below are mainly sourced from Canada. For our larger diamonds, we use several trusted vendors who adhere to the Kimberly Process. While far from perfect, the KP helps prevent 'conflict diamonds’ from entering the market. Our diamonds come from many countries around the world from ethically operated mines to the best of our knowledge and effort. Blockchain technology will eventually help the diamond industry insure their diamonds are tracked from mine-to-market.

1.12 Do you sell lab grown diamonds?

All of our designs found in our showcases contain natural (mined) diamonds, however we’d be happy to create a commissioned piece of jewelry using a lab-grown diamond for you.

1.13 What is the difference between an engagement ring and a wedding band?

An engagement ring is used to propose marriage, and get engaged. Wedding bands are exchanged during the wedding ceremony when a couple exchanges their vows.

1.14 What is your return policy?

We offer a 14-day return policy.
Your satisfaction is of utmost importance to us. If you are unhappy with your purchase or gifted item for ANY reason, we want to know about it. Your item must be unworn, in its original condition, and returned in the original packaging to be eligible for a return or exchange. Commissioned jewelry and jewelry that has been re-sized are not eligible for return or exchange. There are lots of scenarios. When in doubt, contact us!
